Doing something you hate? Delegate

Updated: Oct 5, 2023

The easiest way to do something you hate is to let someone else do it. Sounds tempting, doesn’t it?

Let’s face it. As part of our jobs, we all have to do something that’s less interesting or something we just don’t like doing. We often set it aside, either because it’s less of a priority or simply because we’re too lazy to do it. As a result, we forget about it, then we aren't able to comply with it at the end of the day which leads us to miss our deadlines – which we don’t want to happen. Ever.

So, to save yourself from all the stress, why not just pass those tasks to someone else, right? You’ll not only save yourself from doing the tasks you don’t like, but you also save yourself tons of time. This means you have more time to focus on the things that are crucial to your business.

If you’re aiming to become a successful entrepreneur, then start delegating your tasks and responsibilities. Being able to delegate tasks not only boosts your productivity but also helps you in terms of business and personal growth – which is a very big plus!

Here are 3 major reasons why delegation is crucial for business owners:

  1. It saves you from professional burnout. One thing that holds you back from success is burnout due to excessive stress. Think of it this way: A car can’t run without fuel. The same goes for your body!

  2. The success of your business depends on how strong your team is. Being able to hire talented people and being able to provide the support that your team needs helps your business grow.

  3. Being able to run your business without you. This is the beauty of delegation and what most start-up entrepreneurs want to achieve for their business. Being able not to worry about your business while you're on vacation mode, or on sick leave is already a big help especially to your mental health.

These are only a few of the reasons why you need to consider getting a helping hand. If your goal is to grow your business, then allow someone else to take some of that load off of your shoulders!

When you’re ready…

Don’t be afraid to start building your team. It’s a great investment as long as you also know what, when, and how to delegate tasks and responsibilities. Give yourself and your business some room to grow while also starting to build opportunities for others.
