Does 8point8 offer video editing services?
Yes. However, please take note that the time it takes to edit a video will depend on the desired output, as well as the quality and length of the source material. It will also depend on the complexity of the edits.
The source material, such as audio, video, and b-roll assets, should be provided by you. You may send these files to our team via Google Drive or Dropbox.
If there are certain assets you may not have downloaded yet, there is an online library for B-Roll assets found on Unsplash (https://unsplash.com/)or Pexels.(https://www.pexels.com/) As for royalty-free audio, you may download these on respective sites. If you have obtained the material, you may send the link to us, and we can download it for you.

How do you charge for services? What do I get when I book your team to work with me?
To book our team's services, you can choose from our available Prepaid Plans.(https://www.8point8.net/prepaid-plans) Basically, you just pick a plan according to your budget or needs. You get everything that is listed in our service menu,(https://www.8point8.net/services) a branded Trello board to manage your tasks and projects with us, as well as catch-up calls with Lisa available by appointment.(https://www.8point8.net/zoom-call)
What if I use up all my prepaid hours before my Prepaid Plan expires?
If in the middle of the validity period, you've already used up all the prepaid hours that you purchased at the start of service, you can simply top up by purchasing more hours to be consumed before the original validity period of your plan expires. You will be able to purchase more hours after you sign up for a Prepaid Plan.(https://www.8point8.net/prepaid-plans)
How do I keep track of my hours?
We maintain a spreadsheet online that includes details of the hours worked per task or per time log by our team members. We also email you a weekly time tracker report every Friday to keep you up to date of how many hours have incurred so far. In our email report, you will see:
1) how many hours have been consumed by our team so far to work on your tasks and projects
2) how many hours are left for you to consume within the validity period of your chosen Prepaid Plan
3) the start and the end of your Prepaid Plan's validity period
How do I purchase top up hours? What forms of payment do you accept?
8point8 accepts payments via PayPal, Credit Card or Debit Card. Payment will be coursed through our Online Top-Up Form.(https://www.8point8.net/topup20)
Do you charge for zoom calls, catch-up calls, or consultation meetings via video conference?
Yes. We understand that you might want to book a weekly call or an occasional meeting to go through current projects or bounce ideas for potential projects. If you need to talk to a live person, Lisa will be available to attend such zoom calls.
When you book a zoom call, the time duration for the call will be treated like a regular chargeable task. The time duration whether it's just a few minutes or a few hours, will be charged to the hour credits in your Prepaid plan. We log the time consumed on your invoice time tracker too and it will reflect on our weekly email report to keep you updated.
How do you deal with confidential information? Do I share my passwords with you so you can use apps in my behalf?
We take confidentiality seriously due to the nature of our operations. With that said, the Service Agreement you will sign has a confidentiality clause. When it comes to sharing access to apps you need our team to use, you can add us as an admin user rather than sharing your own passwords with us.
However, if an app you want us to use does not have the capability of adding an admin user for it, you can still share your passwords with us but we highly recommend using a password sharing app like LastPass o(https://www.lastpass.com/)r Dashlane.(https://www.dashlane.com/)
It seems like your team provides a lot of services. Is there anything your team CANNOT do?
Yes, there are services our team is unable to provide. We can't be everything for everyone and we feel it's best that we perform services within our capabilities. Our team currently does not have the tools and capacity for the following services:
• lead generation
• dropshipping
• FB ads or Google ads management
• voice calls (answering calls and making outbound calls)
• calendar management / appointment setting services
• data mining
• mobile app development
• domain name registration and redirection
• photo manipulation / extensive photo editing
• complex / specialized video footage editing (special effects)
• SEO (search engine optimization) consultation
If a major requirement you have for hiring a VA is to do one of the tasks listed above, we highly encourage you to search for another service provider besides 8point8.
We guarantee you, somewhere out there is a VA or freelancer who can do a much better and more competent job than our team ever will. We believe there is enough business for EVERY ONE and we don't want to deprive another virtual assistant or freelancer out there the chance to work with you and fulfill your business' needs.
BUT, if you are a coach, course creator, podcaster, or entrepreneur who needs the services we CAN provide that are listed H(https://www.8point8.net/services)ERE,(https://www.8point8.net/services) let's talk! We are excited with the opportunity to work with you.
How do I send clear task instructions to the team?
There are different ways you can communicate your instructions. These two methods are our most preferred:
• Written instructions submitted via your Trello Board (http://www.trello.com)or Job Order Form (javascript:void(0))(step-by-step instructions on what you need us to do, where to find files/logins, etc.)
• Loom (http://www.loom.com)(video instructions; Loom is a video messaging tool that allows you to record your computer screen and share the video with us. Once you have the link to your video message, you can send it through your Trello Board or Job Order form)
What's important is that when you endorse the instructions to us, the files we need are complete/accessible by our team and you've explained what we need to do to achieve your desired end result.
How can we share designs to the team in Canva?
We currently do not accept Canva account invites. This is done to prevent the unintentional sharing of your files and other assets outside of your account.
For your reference, here is a complete guide (https://www.canva.com/help/share-via-link-or-email/)on how to share a design with us. You may follow the steps under Sharing a link so anyone can view, watch, or use it as a template.
As for sharing files and branding assets with the team, you may upload the files to a folder that we provide, or share an existing folder from your Dropbox or Google Drive with our email team@8point8.net.
After we create the designs or output, we will send you a Canva design template link. To save these design files to your account, you may follow these steps:
1. Click the link we provide.
2. Click the "Use template" button.
3. The design will be saved to your Canva account.
4. If you wish to make edits, you may relay these changes to the team.
You can get in touch with us to know more if you have any more inquiries regarding the design process and handling of the Canva account.
What happens after I send you project instructions or task details via Trello/Loom?
Great question! This is actually very critical in our line of work as your VA team.
If your instructions are complete and understandable, we usually proceed to working on the task as soon as possible. The task will be assigned to one of our team members who will implement the task based on your instructions. We then report back to you with our progress through Trello.
However, there are times when the initial task information we get from you might be incomplete. Some common examples are logins that won’t work for us, files we can’t access because they have not been shared with our team yet, and other similar issues. This usually happens in the first few tasks that we handle for you. We must emphasize that the completion of any task is greatly dependent on the completeness of your instructions, too. If we receive task instructions that need clarification, we always do our best to communicate back and ask for confirmation before we proceed with such tasks. This will help us avoid back work.
We hope you can also be patient at the start which we consider to be the adjustment period. You can take comfort in knowing that we have clients who have worked with our team for years already. We started the exact same way - getting to know each other, trying to adjust to each other’s work styles/processes, communicating frequently to ensure that we are on the same page as we progress through tasks.
Eventually, we will get to know you and your business better and better, making our team more efficient but we most certainly cannot do it without your guidance. We encourage you to LEAD our team and let us know if we’re going the wrong way. Your honest feedback will always be appreciated at 8point8.
How quickly can you get tasks done?
The length of time we need depends on the nature of the task you assign to us. To put it into perspective, we need more time editing videos than scheduling 5 Facebook posts. If you’re not sure how much time your new task for us will take to do, we recommend specifying how many maximum hours you’d like for us to spend on it. Please indicate your maximum hours budget when you send us the task via job order or our Trello board. This let’s our team work within your budget for the task/project too which means we’ll help you avoid overspending.
We also encourage you to send your tasks with enough lead time for our team to react and coordinate with you. Here's the link to our Lead Time Guide w(https://www.8point8.net/leadtime)here we list our most common tasks as a VA team, how much lead time we need, and what materials you must provide to us so we can proceed with such tasks.
How do I communicate with 8point8 about the progress of the task?
Through Trello - a collaboration tool that allows us to organize projects into boards, thereby making the multiple tasks and big projects easily digestible. We create your Trello board for you and that’s where we (you and the 8point8 team) can communicate and organize different tasks. Here’s the link to our demo board.(https://trello.com/b/ahLC2Yyy/8point8-demo-board) You’ll love it!
If I want my podcast or videos edited, do I need to buy a video editing program and give you access to it?
No. 8point8 invests in the necessary video and audio editing software, specifically WeVideo and Adobe Premiere Pro. We can share the edited files to you via Google Drive, Dropbox or other media storage application.
Does 8point8 have business days or business hours? When will your team work on my tasks? What are your lead times?
Yes, we do. Our business hours run from 6am-6pm Mon-Fri (Philippine Time) or 6pm Sun to 6am Friday (Eastern Time USA). Now, I know you might think that this time difference is impossible to work with but we’ll find a way to make it work for you. In fact, a lot of our clients who are in the USA and Europe, love the time difference. They send us tasks at the start of their day or before they go to bed at night and they wake up the following morning to read our progress reports.
However, we must emphasize that the completion of the task is greatly dependent on the completeness of your instructions too. If we receive task instructions that need clarification, we always do our best to communicate back and ask for confirmation before we proceed with such tasks. This will help us avoid back work.
Finally, we built this table of task lead times to guide you when you assign tasks to us. Check it out here: www.8point8.net/leadtime
(https://www.8point8.net/leadtime)
Does your team work on weekends?
We discourage weekend work in general. Instead, we encourage our team members to work on tasks efficiently during business hours and during weekdays. However, upon request and depending on 8point8's availability, you may ask us to be available for work over the weekend under special circumstances. Some examples of special circumstances are when you're launching a course, hosting a summit, or conducting a live webinar/workshop.
We understand that these kinds of events are commonly scheduled during weekends. We also understand that such events are periodic or seasonal so we don't expect you to have a summit or a free LIVE challenge every week. Therefore, when you are having these events to launch a course, to open your membership programs, or create hype to promote a new product, we want to support you because we know such events are super important in your business. We only require that you inform us ahead of time, at least one week prior so we can check and confirm on our team's availability.
I need your team to be online at a fixed schedule daily. Can you provide a service like this?
Because of the nature of the way our team operates, we fulfill tasks autonomously. We submit our output or reports to you based on a set deadline. This means you only pay for the VA work hours incurred regardless what time of the day it was fulfilled by our team.
However, if you want a dedicated virtual assistant at a fixed schedule, 8point8 is sadly not be a good fit for you. We feel that if your nature of business requires a fixed schedule of work, you will thrive more if you hire a solo virtual assistant instead of our team.
Can I cancel our engagement if my needs change in the future?
Yes. You always have that option and we do our best to help where we are needed. Please notify us via email if you wish to be off-boarded so that our team can guide you through the process. We want to make sure that when we part ways with you, all balances have been paid and all tasks completed by our team have been turned over to you. You can also request for copies of files that were used or created while you worked with us. Ideally, please give us 10 days advance notice for our team to prepare and offboard you accordingly.
Where are you located?
We are located in the Philippines. But because we are a remote virtual assistant team, we can practically work with any client around the world.
I am interested in your services but would need more information about the type of work you can do for me. Is there someone I can talk to about this?
Absolutely! You can book a discovery call (https://www.8point8.net/discovery-call)with Lisa or send your inquiries to info@8point8.net.(mailto:info@8point.net)
